Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how and why We Manage Trust collects your data, what is considered data, and the circumstances under which we may disclose, transfer and store this data. Where this policy refers to “We Manage Trust”, “we”, “our” or “us” below, unless mentioned otherwise, it is referring to We Manage Trust acting in the capacity of a Data Controller. We are committed to protecting your personal data and privacy and endeavour to ensure that any personal data collected by us will be held and processed per applicable data protection regulations.

 

PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU
 

Any information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, or to make you identifiable, is classified as ‘Personal Data’. In providing our services we handle a variety of your personal data. We have provided a non-exhaustive list of the types of personal data below:
 

• Identity data such as: Government ID,  Full name, Date of birth, Marital status, Nationality. 
• Contact Data such as: Address, Telephone number(s), Email address.
• Financial Data such as: Information used to send or receive funds to/from you. 

 

We Manage Trust is primarily engaged by corporate entities and as such those clients are not data subjects. However, as part of such instructions, personal information may be provided to us (e.g. personal information relating to any of our corporate clients' or prospective clients' officers or personnel, or vendor or purchaser).


HOW WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA
 

The following are examples of how we collect personal data:
• when you request information regarding our services via post, email or telephone;
• when you contact us or provide your data in relation to a marketing event we are running or sponsoring; 
• when you provide us with your business card, or
• use of public platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook etc.


 

HOW WE PROCESS YOUR DATA
 

The following lists the purposes for which we intend to use your personal data along with the legal justifications for each use.

HOW WE MAY SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
 

Third-Party Service Providers  We may appoint third-party service providers as required to deliver services to clients. They may use your information to provide services directly to We Manage Trust or to you on our behalf. We ensure third-party service providers handle personal data in compliance with our legal and regulatory requirements by implementing contractual documentation and doing an appropriate level of due diligence on them. 
 

Other Data Controllers  As part of our service to you, we may be required to provide information to other parties, such as regulators. Unless you agree differently, any third party to whom we disclose information about you will be required to maintain the confidentiality of such information and not use it for any purpose other than the one for which it was supplied.

 

DATA RETENTION
 

The length of time personal data will be retained will be determined by several factors including the type of data, its purpose, and the legal and regulatory obligations stipulated. 

 

YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS
 

Under the Jamaican Data Protection Act, you have the following rights: 
• The right to access your personal data that we hold about you. 
• The right to be informed about what personal data is being captured about you and how it is being processed.
• The right to rectification.
• The right to object or to prevent the processing (or further processing) of your personal data in certain circumstances, including marketing.
• The right to object to automated decision-making (ie. decisions made without human intervention).
• The right to data portability (ie. to transfer your data to another controller).


 

CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY NOTICE
 

We may amend this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect any changes to the way we process your personal data and to comply with adjustments to applicable laws or regulatory requirements. Where practicable, we will notify you by email of any significant changes.
